“I don’t wish to touch hearts, I don’t even want to affect
minds very much. What I really want to produce is that little sob in the spine
of the artist-reader.”
Vladimir Nabokov on Lolita (Part 2):
The Greek expression Πάντα ῥεῖ (panta rhei) - "everything flows" has been attributed to the philosopher Heraclitus, but was probably coined after his time. It does, however, epitomize the essence of his philosophy: We live in a world of change. Our thoughts, our knowledge, our perceptions are in flux. Even boundaries between cultures, the sciences and humanities are fluid - which is why you will encounter different fragments of human creativity in this blog.
Brilliant blog.
